GRAPHIC DESIGN FOR POETS (& WRITERS)
Let's face it: most poets don't make a lot of money with their writing & books. But that doesn't mean we should stop promoting our work. For the poets and writers without agency representation, nearly all of the work of marketing our readings & events falls back on us; and creating aesthetically-pleasing, eye-catching promotional graphics can be an expensive endeavor. My hope is to give the rest of us access to affordable & attractive graphic design services for event promotion and more.

BOOK TOUR GRAPHICS (WEB)
This is a graphic that lists multiple reading dates and/or advertises your availability for booking new events. I would suggest having a minimum of 5-10 events lined up (date, time, & venue confirmed) to properly utilize this type of promotional graphic. This can include a high-resolution image of your book cover, your author photo, and/or a pre-existing blurb about your book (please note: all of these items must be supplied by the author). If you would like to advertise your availability for booking future events, this graphic should also include your preferred contact method, such as an email address or website (which must also be supplied by the author). This graphic would be ideal for posting to social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram. It would also be ideal for including on an author website. Ready to get started? EVENT POSTERS (WEB & PRINT)
This is a graphic that lists the details of a single reading event. You will need four main items confirmed to properly utilize this type of promotional graphic: event date, time, venue, and the names of your fellow readers (optional). This can include a high-resolution image of your book cover, your author photo, and/or a pre-existing blurb about your book. The finished graphic(s) would be delivered to you in two versions: web & print-ready. The web version is formatted for posting to social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram. It would also be ideal for including on an author website. The print-ready version would be configured for standard 4-color printing as a poster, flyer, or postcard (with or without crop/bleed marks). Ready to get started? DESIGN TESTIMONIALS
Lindsay is a true collaborator and artist, working with me to design promotional materials, bookmarks, and broadsides that fully represented my poetry collection. She ingeniously combined both the practicality of a bookmark and business card with gorgeous design to make appealing bookmarks that would be used and cherished by readers. I also appreciate how she recommended printing services and gave multiple options on designs with quick turnaround on revisions. Lindsay is a dream designer!
—Alyse Bensel, author of Rare Wondrous Things
I went to Lindsay Lusby for help promoting a spoken word event to raise awareness for climate action. Lindsay responded always on-time with striking solutions! When our visions didn’t line up exactly, she listened and came back with brilliant graphic designs sized for print or web display. I appreciated that she caught small details and sent revisions before I noticed them myself. I believe we owe much of the success of our events to Lindsay.

I also design author business cards, logos, postcards, bookplates, stickers, and promotional bookmarks—practically any personal branding or printed swag item you might want to include with book purchases or hand out at book signings. I also design broadsides, featuring a poem or short excerpt of prose. But I'm always open to fun & innovative ideas you might have as well!
