BROADSIDES

Pairing text & image with a dash of graphic design and (sometimes) a pinch of letterpress printing. I also offer freelance digital broadside design services for writers, readers, and literary organizations. I accept payment via PayPal, Zelle, & Venmo. Please note: I have raised my rates beginning October 2022 to keep up with our drastic cost-of-living changes this year. All new rates are listed below!

BROADSIDE DESIGN SERVICES
I offer freelance graphic design services for digital broadsides for poets & writers, turning a short poem or excerpt of prose into frameable art that you can give away or sell at readings & events.

Final designs are delivered to the client as both print-ready PDFs & web-ready JPGs. Prices start at $100 for a single digital design at the individual rate, but I also offer discounted prices for commissions of two or more.

To the left are sample designs from my professional portfolio, featuring poems by Mary Ardery, Cynthia Atkins, Alyse Bensel, David Booth, Julia Kolchinsky Dasbach, Justin Hamm, Aviya Kushner, Clarissa Mendiola, Catherine Pierce, Nancy Reddy, Elizabeth Sylvia, Kelly Grace Thomas, Vanessa Angélica Villarreal, & Amie Whittemore.

DESIGN TESTIMONIALS
Lindsay's work was impeccable, thoughtfully done, and she collaborated with me along every step of the process. She took an idea I had in mind and made it tangible and beautiful. And Lindsay is a pleasure to work with!
—Brandon Amico, author of Disappearing, Inc.

Lindsay is a true collaborator and artist, working with me to design promotional materials, bookmarks, and broadsides that fully represented my poetry collection. She ingeniously combined both the practicality of a bookmark and business card with gorgeous design to make appealing bookmarks that would be used and cherished by readers. I also appreciate how she recommended printing services and gave multiple options on designs with quick turnaround on revisions. Lindsay is a dream designer!
—Alyse Bensel, author of Rare Wondrous Things

Working with Lindsay was a dream—she designed a gorgeous broadside, and was thorough, responsive, and wonderfully helpful throughout the entire process. I absolutely plan to work with Lindsay again on future projects.
—Catherine Pierce, author of Danger Days and The Tornado Is the World

Lindsay designed three absolutely stunning broadsides for my poems. She was a joy to work with—very receptive to my ideas and also full of suggestions when I was at a loss for what I wanted or how to articulate it. She told me up front how long things would take and stuck to those deadlines throughout the process. I cannot recommend her enough!
—Mary Ardery, finalist for Best New Poets 2021

There are no better hands than those of Lindsay Lusby. Her talent lies in not only being a poet herself, but listening with empathy and creating with innovation. She is a skilled visual translator: every broadside she designs captures the poem’s personality in a fresh, surprising way. Before I hired Lindsay to create broadsides for me, I had already bought five of her other designs. Her artistic touch, along with my favorite poems, echoes throughout my living room. From her dedication to deliver what I want, to the collaborative conversations, I am so grateful for Lindsay’s designs, knowledge, and how her work continues to inspire my work and life.
—Kelly Grace Thomas, author of Boat Burned

LETTERPRESS BROADSIDES
From 2012 to 2020, I designed poetry & prose broadsides for letterpress printing at the Literary House Press. I even got to print a couple of them myself each year in the antique print shop there, usually on the trusty Vandercook 4.

Now at home, I operate my own Chandler & Price Pilot, which is a tabletop platen-style press. I am occasionally able to take on commissions for the design & printing of letterpress broadsides (for individuals & publishers), but I do have limited availability for projects of this size.

To the left are sample designs from my professional letterpress design portfolio. Many of these were done for the Literary House Press. Copies of those limited-edition broadsides can be purchased on the LHP website. Copies of "America," by Mag Gabbert are available from American Literary Review, while supplies last.
